The Truth About Free Trial Health Products Online

I witnessed a conversation today at school and it sort of aggravated me, so I thought I would write about it to give you my thoughts.  The conversation was going on between 2 other ladies and they were talking about the free trial health supplements available on the web. One girl, her name is Mary, had just got her free trial of a resveratrol supplement sent to her home and was happy about it and was sharing the news with another girl Stephanie.  Stephanie quickly began telling Mary that she had been taken advantage of, and how the whole free trial deal on  the internet is a scam and how nothing in life is free, how her credit card was going to be billed repeatedly and there is nothing she’ll be able to do about it.  Yada, yada yada.  Mary went from extremely excited to really sad but she really need not feel that way.  I’ll explain why.

I myself get free products from the web all of the time.  I have received samples of acai berry products, resveratrol supplements, colonic cleanse supplements, acai with pomegranate, you name it, I very likely used it or still do. Was I taken advantage of?  Not in the least.  So, what’s all this discussion about being tricked and how the products aren’t truly free, or whether they actually even work?

Let me try to respond to these questions one at a time.  Are the supplements actually free?  Not entirely, but for the most part, yeah.  You see, you get a trial bottle of the supplement, whether it be a 14 day trial, thirty day trial, whichever. But, you’ve got to pay for the shipping. Generally less than 10 dollars.  Here’s where the original cost comes in.  So why do they charge to ship and offer the product free?  Well, a lot of folks won’t try something if they are not sure if it works, but if they don’t have a lot to lose, they might give it a try. The manufacturers know this, which is the reason why they give you the first bottle at no charge.  They ask for a card number to pay for the shipping because they’re confident about their products and they would like you to stay as a consumer, so the fine print is that they will charge your card again after 30 days and send you a new bottle.  If you do not want to be charged because the supplement did not work for you, and it may not work because everyone is different, than just call the toll free number and cancel.  It’s as straightforward as that.  And you won’t be billed again.  I have done this time and time again without trouble and I pay close attention to my credit card bills and have seen no monkey business going on.

You see, providing something for no cost up front, asking for a Visa to pay shipping, and billing monthly is a winning business design.  It works, that is the reason why these businesses do it.  They know what works and they need to make money.  I don’t believe that any of them are looking to sting anyone or they would not be in business very long. The majority of the clients enjoy the product and get results so these companies know they’ll recoup the costs of offering something free.  Plus I am certain they get a decent margin so it wouldn’t take them too long.

Now, using famous celebs to assist with promotion is a bit underhanded I admit, but that has been going on for a while.  Watch any commercial and see if you can not spot a celebrity.  And do you think they actually use the product being publicized. I doubt it.  They just get paid well as a spokesperson.  Those sorts of promotions online are being cracked down on so you almost certainly won’t see much of that anymore anyhow.

As for the safety of the supplements, I personally only get superfoods or products that are natural.  I don’t hunt down weight loss products with chemicals and other junk.  I am getting products that contribute to well being, not products which make me unhealthy.  In the case of acai, I will be getting extraordinarily powerful antioxidants to keep the free radicals at bay.  For colon cleansing products, I am going to be getting assistance ridding my body of built up waste and losing weight in the process.

Well, that’s my time. Hope I cleared up any misunderstanding and that you’re feeling more secure about any free trial offers available on the net.
