Twin Pomegranates Wine Cookbook

Madera, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2011

Twin Pomegranates Wine recently partnered with Gina Meyers, a well known author of unique themed cookbooks, to make a cookbook filled with all things pomegranate wine. The Twin Pomegranates Wine Cookbook features appealing appetizers, mouthwatering main dishes, cheery cocktails, and delightful desserts.

Author and Chef Gina Meyer’s goal in life is, “to reignite the spark of imagination by getting people back into the kitchen creating meals together and conversing. One on one connection of people simply sitting down and enjoying a meal together seems to be lost.” She met Nick and Brian Davis (co-owners of Twin Pomegranates Wine) and was ““very impressed with their initiative to start a wine company with a twist (pomegranates) in the Fresno-Madera area.” They began working together shortly after meeting, and the end product was a tasty cookbook filled with pomegranate recipes.

“We instantly were in when she approached us about making a cookbook with our wine. We have dabbled with a few recipes ourselves, but having a professional come in and work her magic in the kitchen with our wine was amazing. The Pomegranate Fusion Meatloaf is a favorite. We love this comfort food already, and adding the pomegranate twist was delicious. Aside from the delicious food recipes, Gina also packed the book with tasty drink recipes featuring our pomegranate wines. I am a huge fan Pomegranate Peach Sangria,” said Brian Davis,Co-owner.

Twin Pomegranates Wine makes four incomparable wines: a 100% Pomegranate Table Wine, Pomegranate White Wine Blend and a 100% Pomegranate Sparkling Wine, and a dessert wine “Sweetie.” The cookbook can be purchased on Amazon.com. Pomegranate Martini

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

Even before Oprah Winfrey launched the drink into super stardom, the pomegranate martini was a flavorful member of the cocktail party scene.  Ladies grabbed this particular type of martini with a passion after an Oprah Winfrey television episode where Oprah espoused her love for this tasty drink.  Since then, the pomegranate martini shows up at afternoon lunches, fashionable brunches, receptions, at-home gatherings and many other social events.

The pomegranate is a fruit grown from trees.  Originally from Africa and Western Asia, the pomegranate is about the size of an orange.  The tough outer rind can be cut to reveal delicious red pulp with many seeds.  The red pulp is often squeezed to make a tangy juice.

There are some variations to the popular pomegranate martini – be sure to give several versions a try to determine what you like the best:

Basic Pomegranate Martini

2 oz vodka
1/4 oz triple sec
2 oz pomegranate juice
Slice of orange for garnish

Pour the vodka, triple sec, and pomegranate juice into a cocktail shaker that is filled with ice.  Shake well.  Pour into a chilled martini glass and then garnish with a slice of orange.

Berry Pomegranate Martini

1/2 oz orange liqueur
2 oz pomegranate juice
2 oz vodka
blueberries and cranberries
orange wedges

Combine the orange liqueur, pomegranate juice and vodka into a cocktail shaker that is filled with ice.  Shake well.  Pour into a chilled martini glass.  Add blueberries, cranberries, and garnish with an orange wedge.

Tequila PomTini

2 oz tequila
2 oz pomegranate juice
1/2 oz pomegranate liqueur
splash of sweet and sour mix

Combine the tequila, pomegranate juice, pomegranate liqueur and sweet and sour mix into a cocktail shaker.  Shake well.  Pour into a chilled martini glass.

Grapefruit Pomtini

1 oz pomegranate juice
1 1/2 oz vodka
1 1/2 oz grapefruit juice
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
slice of orange for garnish

Combine pomegranate juice, vodka, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker that is filled with ice.  Shake well.  Strain into a chilled martini glass and then garnish with a slice of orange.

Citrus Pomegranate Martini

2 oz vodka
1 oz orange liqueur
1 oz lime juice or lemon juice
1 oz pomegranate juice
slice of lemon or lime to use for garnish

Combine the vodka, orange liqueur, lemon or lime juice, and pomegranate juice into a cocktail shaker that is filled with ice.  Shake well.  Pour into a chilled martini glass and then garnish with a slice of lemon or lime.

The pomegranate martini makes any cocktail party lively and fun.  When planning a social gathering, it is a good idea to get all the ingredients needed to make some pomegranate martinis.  Then you can invite guests to make their own special versions of these great party drinks right at your bar or in your kitchen.  Making the “pomtini” is a great activity for your “mixer”!
